Funnily enough, Alf from A.A, who was so dismissive about Covid and its restrictions back in July of last year, ended up catching Coronavirus himself, and so did his wife. Both of them admitted to hospital, both on respirators.
Apparently things were a bit iffy for a while but in the end they survived and after all that, Alf’s business has never been better. He sells freezers. His revenue’s up 400 percent. Thanks to the lockdown and all the restaurants shut, ‘everybody’s buying freezers’, he tells people.
Both Colin and myself think that Alf’s volume may have got a little quieter since his hospitalisation. But we also both acknowledge that this might just be wishful thinking.
